My New Disney Related Theory for ABC's (the US producer's) "Lost"
Ok....so I think I have ABC's hit show "Lost" figured out. Are you ready? It's no coincidence that ABC is owned by Disney. Here are my thoughts.

Back in the 60's when Walt Disney supposedly died, perhaps he really faked his death and moved to a remote island where he could build a bigger, better park than Disneyland or Walt Disney World. He began creating a park with similar components from his other parks with tomorrowland, New Orleans Square, etc. He brought a small staff with him to help him create his final swan-song. However, he died before it could be completed and left his staff in a confused panic. For security purposes, he created "robotic monsters" (audio-animatronic) that would scare away visitors. His staff eventually became sick and/or stir-crazy from being stuck on a tropical island and a "Lord of the Flies" scenario played out. The audio-animatronic monsters went haywire due to neglect and began killing islanders without warning.

Then...the plane from the TV show "Lost" landed. So far, they have found only aging remnants of Walt's Island Amusement Park. The "hatch" is part of a buried Tomorrowland. The "Black Rock" Pirate Ship used to be a themed restaurant in New Orleans Square near the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. The "boom sticks" that Rousseau uses for boobie traps are left over explosives from the new, improved fireworks show that never got to entertain guests. There are still lots of the park that remain hidden and/or destroyed due to neglect, inclimate weather, and the haywire audio-animatronic monsters. The employees that were left on the island modified part of tomorrowland to create a livable environment where they could live in seclusion, disease free. The "hatch" is part of the tomorrowland modification turned living space (like the "House of Tomorrow" that used to sit near Tomorrowland in Disneyland.

Now...why would the employees that are still left (or the "others" as Rousseau refers to them) want to steal babies like Rousseau's and Claire's. Well...what is an amusement park without children to enjoy it? They are all partially insane due to sickness and cabin-fever (or "hatch" fever) and are desperately trying to hold on to their dream of creating the ultimate amusement park experience.

The "black smoke" is from the exhaust from the kitchen of what used to be the "Blue Bayou" and is now a commisary for the "others". Whenever they open a hatch to find more children, the exhaust flows out. Have I forgotten anything?

Oh yes...the Polar Bear was part of the zoo that Walt was building that he lovingly called "Disney's Animal Kingdom".

It's really so simple. One day, Hurley and Jack are going to find Walt's bones along with diagrams, blueprints, charts, and plans for his Island Magic Kingdom where no one could purchase land nearby and build cheap hotels to spoil the "experience". I think it's totally feasible. This would, also, explain why Rousseau wrote out the lyrics to a song that would one day play during the credits of "Finding Nemo." Could it be that Walt had that story in development all these years and she found his plans. Hhmmmmmm....
